This year, make a conscious effort to give something different. Like what? How about gifts in a jar? They truly make for unique gifts because they are mostly made personally by the giver for the recipient.

Jar Gifts - Edible or Not?

Most gifts encased in jars are undoubtedly edible. And that's not bad at all. Have you ever seen a person say NO to a jar full of home-cooked chocolate chip cookies? I don't think so... If you go for the edible gifts, then you'll get stuck on cookies. Other great edible jar gifts can be specialty bread (a jar of biscotti to be eaten with a nice, huge and hot mug of coffee or chocolate... hmm...), a collection of spices all over the world arranged in special containers and placed in a huge jar, special cupcakes, and more!

Of course, you are not limited to food gifts alone. How about a special jar of favors? Inside the jar are different colored papers each representing a favor the receiver can 'cash in' from you. These can be little things like mowing the lawn, babysitting for one day, bringing dinner over, lunch on me, any favor you can possibly think of.

Or how about the Jar of Passion? Put naughty items inside a RED big, glass container and put in lingerie, a Kama Sutra book (pocket edition of course to fit the jar) and anything else you think will tickle your loved one.

Another great jar gift idea is to put an ORIGINALLY written poem. The jar or container can be placed as decor later in the bedroom or bathroom.
